which in the Dulwich picture is complete; this is a proof that when this copy was made the original had not been pierced. Nothing is easier than to place this picture in its proper place in chronological order. Painted in the year 1644, in the month of June, it is posterior to "Las Lanzas"; to "Los Retratos Ecuestres" and to "Los Cazadores" in the Prado Museum; it is nearly contemporaneous of the "Dama del Abanico" of the Wallace Collection, which, I think, is the portrait of Francisca, daughter of the painter.
