Dear Mr. Frick: I have carefully examined the picture representing the portrait of the Countess of Clanbrassil. I consider this picture to be one of the finest examples of the art of Anthony van Dyck and entirely painted by this master himself. It shows all the freedom and elegance of stroke, the refinement and brillancy of color for which we look in a work by van Dyck of his later? english period. The picture appears to be exceptionally well preserved in the End of Page 1
