Dear Mr. Frick,
Since seeing you this afternoon, I have been very carefully thinking over the matter of the two Titians and beg to suggest that it would be a very great mistake to wire Mr. Carstairs to withdraw from negotiations, because he would have to tell his partners, Messrs. Culnaghi and Sulley, and although Mr. Carstairs would, of course, obey your instructions, you after all are not a client of Cureplaced in graphite with the letter olnaghi and Sulley. The more I think of it, the more I am impressed that it would not be a wise step, and I therefore venture to write you this.
Believe me to remain, Yours very truly, Signed: Joseph Duveen
H. C. Frick, Esq. 1 East 70th Street, NEW YORK CITY.
