Dear Mr. Frick: I am dispatching through Chenne the Rubens portrait. I have it it relined, cleaned and varnished and I have had the good fortune to find a contemporary frame for it. I do not pretend that it will be one of the great things if your collection but I think you will agree that it is eminently worthy to take its place there. I am hoping to find out more about the original of the portrait whom I believe to be a Gonzaga from the Director of the Gallery at Mantua. I heard the other day that you had not received my report on the Holbein of Sir Thomas More. Please let me know if this is so as I certainly sent it some weeks ago as also my account of the purchase of the Polish Rider, the receipt of which has not been acknowledged. I hope this is what you wanted. I am so glad that you have got the Velasquez of Philip IV. You will see that we are publishing it en grande luxe in this next month's Burlington. Yours sincerely, (Signed) Roger E. Fry
