NEW YORK, Aug. 16 1910
Mr. H. C. Frick,
111 Broadway, City
Dear Sir:
Referring to the Rembrandt painting "A Polish Rider", that we
cleared through the custom house for your account, on July 21st, we beg
to advise that we are asked by the customs officials to furnish them with
an affidavit that will cover the antique frame which contained the picture.
The affidavit which we sent you at the time that the picture arrived, covered
the painting only, and we thought it would be sufficient, but the customs
officials have ruled otherwise.
Will you therefore sign and return to us at your earliest convenience,
the enclosed affidavit and oblige,
Yours very truly,
C. B. RICHARD & CO.
