Dear Mr. Frick,
Your letter of the 14th to hand, and was delighted to
hear from you. Pleased to know that you are interest in the work Hastings has undertaken for you, and sincerely hope it will be successful. No-one will be more disappointed than
I if the house does not turn out all you expect it. Needless
to say, I will help Hastings in every way possible when he comes over here, which he writes me he expects to do about the middle of July.
As I cabled you last night, the Velasquez arrived safe and
sound yesterday. I appreciate it must have been hard to let it go, and hope you won't miss it too much. I am sure it will be infinitely more appreciated here than it was in our exhibition in New York, and much better understood. It will be most interesting to see what the critics have to say about it. I really think it the greatest picture in your collection.
I am glad to hear of the increasing prosperity in the steel
industry, as it has always been such a barometer as to business conditions.
