I am dispatching through Chenne the Rubens portrait. I have it it relined, cleaned and varnished and I have had the good fortune to find a contemporary frame for it. I do not pretend that it will be one of the great things if your collection but I think you will agree that it is eminently worthy to take its place there. I am hoping to find out more about the original of the portrait whom I believe to be a Gonzaga from the Director of the Gallery at Mantua.

I heard the other day that you had not received my report on the Holbein of Sir Thomas More. Please let me know if this is so as I certainly sent it some weeks ago as also my account of the purchase of the Polish Rider, the receipt of which has not been acknowledged. I hope this is what you wanted. I am so glad that you have got the Velasquez of Philip IV. You will see that we are publishing it en grande luxe in this next month's Burlington.

Dear Mr. Frick: I am dispatching through Chenne the Rubens portrait.
